What to confirm first
Start with the official tourist paths: install Alipay and WeChat / Weixin before departure, log in on the exact phone you will carry in China, and add eligible international cards inside the apps. A card saved in Apple Pay, Google Wallet, or a browser is not the same thing as a card bound inside the China payment app.
Make sure your phone number can still receive SMS or app verification while you travel. A payment app that works at home can become useless at the airport if you cannot complete a security prompt, identity check, or login confirmation after landing.
Keep your own accounts, passport, card details, and verification codes under your control. CCAC can guide the setup and troubleshoot failures, but does not ask for passwords, hold card details, or sell pre-verified accounts.
Pre-flight checklist
Before boarding, check app login, language settings, card binding, passport or identity prompts, notification access, and whether the app still opens without forcing a fresh setup flow. If the app asks for extra verification, handle it before the flight when you still have stable connectivity.
Prepare the adjacent arrival tools at the same time: Didi, local maps, translation, your hotel name in Chinese, full Chinese address, hotel phone number, and an emergency CCAC contact path through Telegram.
The first airport-to-hotel move should not depend on one fragile payment flow. Keep a backup card, some cash, your hotel confirmation, and a support contact ready in case a QR payment, merchant code, or app risk check fails.
Common failure pattern
The usual failure is not one app being impossible to use. It is a chain reaction: no data, payment app asks for verification, Didi cannot be paid, the hotel address is only in English, and the traveler cannot explain the issue to a driver or front desk after a long flight.
Solve the stack before the flight whenever possible. Payment, connectivity, Didi, maps, and hotel handoff are separate pieces, but they fail together during the first hour after landing.
When to use CCAC
Use the free arrival brief if you only want a pre-flight fit check. Use Comms Setup if you want the app, payment, and connectivity layer reviewed. Use Landing Kit if payment, Didi, hotel address, airport-to-hotel movement, and first-night handoff need to be coordinated together.
If you want this configured before you fly, book CCAC Landing Kit or start with a free arrival brief.
