Why WAIC arrivals need a setup plan
WAIC-style trips are high density: long flight, badge pickup, hotel check-in, meetings, side events, local transport, and payment setup all compete for the same first day.
The risk is not that Shanghai is impossible to navigate. The risk is that one missing piece, such as data, payment, Didi, or the Chinese address, delays the whole first 24-hour sequence.
Pre-flight checklist
Before boarding, confirm Alipay and WeChat / Weixin Pay with eligible international cards, eSIM or roaming, Didi, maps, translation, Telegram reachability, hotel address, hotel phone, WAIC venue address, and any side-event addresses.
If your first meeting is shortly after landing, prepare the exact airport-to-hotel-to-venue route. Do not assume you will have time to troubleshoot payment or connectivity between touchdown and the event.
Keep all local addresses in Chinese and English. English-only venue names and hotel confirmations can slow down driver handoff and local map lookup.
What CCAC can and cannot do
CCAC can prepare the arrival operating layer: payment setup review, connectivity plan, Didi and maps readiness, hotel handoff, airport movement, first-night support, and local context for the first 24-72 hours.
CCAC is not a WAIC official service, ticket broker, investor-introduction service, or guaranteed access channel to speakers, organizers, or side events.
When to use CCAC
Use the free arrival brief if you want a quick pre-flight review. Use Landing Kit if payment, connectivity, airport-to-hotel movement, hotel handoff, and the first local routes need to be handled together.
If you want this configured before you fly, book CCAC Landing Kit or start with a free arrival brief.
